Tracy Island: Listen!

Song About a Pigeon

(Liza & the WonderWheels)
I used to have a job on the other side of the tracks
You know those tracks the ones where the train doesn't run anymore
And each day as I crossed those tracks
I knew I was heading into the work zone

Snow and rain would drip down off those tracks and in the summer time
Puddles of pigeon poop too
Someone had put up wire fencing to keep the pigeons from nesting
But that was coming loose just like my screw

Did I mention that I hated that job?
I did, I did, I did, I hated that job
I did, I did, I did, I hated that job

One morning entering the work zone
I looked up to protect myself from possible poop
And I saw a pigeon that wasn't going anyplace

One dead pigeon caught between the tracks and the fence
One dead pigeon caught between the tracks and the fence
Lying on its back lying with both wings outstretched

Did I mention that the pigeon disturbed me?
It did, it did, it did, the pigeon disturbed me
It did, it did, it did, just by dying

Caught between the tracks and the fence
Caught between the tracks and the fence
